Independent research shows cost savings made from using the company’s on-site managed services

Electrosonic, a leading international audiovisual and technology services company, has revealed some key statistics from a recent study, highlighting the benefits of using its technology specialists at attractions and venues.

Conducted by an external organisation, this latest research shows that leisure sites can achieve a 139% Return On Investment (ROI) over three years, by using Affinity Audio Visual Managed Services by Electrosonic.

The AV firm commissioned Forrester Consulting to execute a Total Economic Impact (TEI) study, looking at the potential returns that enterprises may accomplish by deploying on-site audiovisual managed services, specifically Affinity.

Understanding value

The study’s purpose is to assist organisations with a framework that evaluates the potential financial impact of Affinity on-site managed services could make on their business operations. Attraction board members will now be able to better interpret the benefits, costs, and risks associated with this form of investment.

Forrester interviewed four decision-makers as part of the study who have experience using the Affinity service. This information combined with financial analysis has found that a composite organisation benefits from an additional $686,000 over three years, versus costs of $287,000, creating a net present value (NPV) of $399,000 with an ROI of 139%.

Other risk-adjusted present value quantified benefits include:

  • The bypassed cost of recruiting dedicated in-house AV full-time equivalent personnel: $591,000 over three years.
  • Increased productivity by reducing required management meeting hours: $60,000 over three years.
  • Increased productivity gained by meeting preparation efficiencies: $35,000 over three years.

Other recognised benefits from the study include the ability to focus better on core operations, decreased employee fatigue and optimised brand image for operators.

Electrosonic’s VP of player personnel, professional sports says: ā€œNew data is becoming available in this industry each year, and now [with Affinity] it is so much easier to transmit that to everybody and capitalize on it.ā€

Removing friction

Prior to using Affinity, interviewees reported using outdated technologies and leveraging inadequate system management, with staff being overloaded with manual maintenance tasks. These organisations also lacked data visualization and the necessary reliability required for modern AV systems. After investment in Affinity services, interviewees benefited from increased system flexibility, collaborative opportunities and reduced downtime.

By shifting the burden of support, Affinity reduces organisationsā€™ time spent on supporting and maintaining their AV systems. The Executive Summary of The Total Economic Impact of Affinity On-Site Managed Services Study says:

“Audiovisual technologies enable interactive and collaborative experiences across organisations. Increasing organisational dependence on these systems highlights the importance of reducing system downtime and ensuring that relevant technologies better enable an organisationā€™s day-to-day operations and not be a source of friction.

“On-site audiovisual managed services provide opportunities for growth-oriented organisations to focus on operations rather than non-core activities.ā€

Electrosonic has also been a key partner in the recent launch of SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, a new high-rise immersive experience in New York City, US.
