Gantner Ticketing powers ticketing at Tabloo visitor centre

News
Gantner Ticketing Tabloo

Entry is kept simple with specialist attraction ticketing technology

Gantner Ticketing, a provider of software for museums, zoos, cultural heritage and visitor attractions, has been working to deliver systems with a new visitor centre in Dessel, Belgium, which explores the region’s rich nuclear history.

The technology specialist has provided a complete solution for Tabloo, helping to streamline and enhance the attraction’s ticketing processes.

Wanting to facilitate individuals and groups, as well as being able to manage tour guides, Tabloo has signed up for Gantner Ticketing modules including facility bookings, POS, event planning and guide planning. This ensures that event centre reservations can be managed with ease.

Tabloo’s webshop has also been realised by Gantner using its time slot ticketing software, with online payments being made using Enviso Pay.

The central cash desk and accounting team are supported by an AX Dynamics integration, with the system working fully with access control procedures at three site entrances.

Educating on energy

The interactive radioactivity exhibition at Tabloo is the headline attraction, approaching the topic from both social and scientific angles. Visitors see the radioactivity phenomenon in action and learn how radioactive waste is produced and handled.

They will learn about the challenges we still face, how the public is assisting in the search for solutions, and what work is being done on nuclear applications research. For schools and groups, there are also a variety of workshops, lab sessions, and activities.

There is a playground and landscaped park outside, where visitors can hike up to the location of the upcoming radioactive waste repository. The structure of the building itself is striking as well: a table-shaped concrete structure rises 15 metres high with a timber frame underneath.

The building represents the dialogue between ONDRAF/NIRAS and the STORA and MONA partnerships. Guests can also visit the Bistroo brasserie for flavourful and nutritious cuisine.

Tabloo also has a theatre room, an exhibition area, a number of multipurpose rooms, and an outdoor event meadow. There, people, associations, and businesses can host events, whether or not they are accessible to the general public. As a result, Tabloo has potential to develop into a bustling hub for residents of the area and beyond.

Tabloo officially opened to visitors on 22 March 2022 and is open each week from Sunday-Friday. Tickets can be reserved online.

Gantner Ticketing has also worked with The Postal Museum in London, UK, supplying its Recreatex solution as a platform for ticketing, retail sales, and visitor insights.
