Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the largest AV and systems integration show in the world, has revealed that its 2024 event was the most successful in its two-decade-long history.

This edition took place at Fira de Barcelona Gran Via from 30 January until 2 February and welcomed 73,891 unique verified attendees from 162 countries. This attendance is the highest since the show began in Geneva in 2004, and represents a 27% increase over the 2023 edition.

There were 95,396 registrations overall and 172,627 visits throughout the four-day event. On Wednesday 31 January, the show received 51,617 attendees. This is the greatest number to have ever attended in a single day and breaks the previous record by nearly 22%. Attendance on Friday was 24,528, setting a new record for ISE since it became a four-day event.

With 1,408 exhibitors, the event included the most exhibitors of any event and the largest show floor area (82,000 sqm net) and attracted unprecedented levels of footfall. In addition, exhibitors reported record-breaking occupancy in the city’s hotels, bars, and entertainment venues.

Milestone year

ISE 2024 demonstrated innovation in the pro-AV and systems integration sector. Exhibitors from all around the world showcased cutting-edge solutions, including groundbreaking display technologies, immersive audio systems, smart automation, and collaborative communication tools. The varied range of products and services highlighted the industry’s dedication to pushing limits and improving customer experiences.

Mike Blackman, managing director of Integrated Systems Events, says: “In the illustrious 20-year journey of ISE, we have witnessed the transformative power of innovation and collaboration within our community.

“ISE 2024 not only reflects the cutting-edge technologies defining our industry but also serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of creativity and camaraderie. As we celebrate this milestone, alongside our co-owners AVIXA and CEDIA we look forward to continuing our commitment to being a global platform for industry professionals.”

ISE 2024’s educational programme featured keynotes from leading digital artists Jeroen van der Most and Sofia Crespo, as well as multi-Academy Award-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Workshops and conference sessions offered insightful perspectives on the latest advances in technology, market dynamics, and emerging trends.

In conferences and on show floor stages, acclaimed speakers discussed themes including artificial intelligence in AV, sustainable design, the future of remote collaboration, and much more. Meanwhile, delegates could take part in thought-provoking conversations while gaining practical knowledge to keep ahead in the quickly changing field.

The event’s 20th-anniversary celebrations gave it a unique feel. The history of ISE was marked through commemorative events, retrospective exhibitions like the ISE Time Tunnel and Vintage Audio Museum, and acknowledgements from industry leaders. This not only evoked nostalgia but also demonstrated the industry’s tenacity and adaptation in the face of technological change.

ISE 2025 will take place in Barcelona from 4 to 7 February 2025.

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) recently shared details of its sponsorship of the Llum BCN’24 light arts festival in Barcelona, which illuminated the city streets from 2 to 4 February.
