Mobaro, a provider of online maintenance and safety solutions, has announced it has added new services to its management tool for attractions operators.
The development milestone comes five months after the software firm announced the launch of its Competency Management module at IAAPA Expo 2021 in Orlando, Florida.
Traditionally, keeping track of the various certifications required for large attractions such as amusement parks and resorts has required vast amounts of documentation and manual work for HR and management.
Streamlining the process
Organisations have a legal obligation to ensure hazardous procedures are undertaken correctly and only by qualified personnel. Once employees have acquired their necessary training, it is also necessary for attractions to keep track of expiring certifications up for renewal.
Mobaro has honed in on this need by developing a strong training and certifications hub which caters for the modern requirements of attraction staff. Specialized training is covered for areas including first aid, maintenance, ride operations, lifeguard training and forklift operation.
Human resources departments now have the functionality to create and publish survey-style training content for employees, through the Mobaro mobile app. Managers and staff will benefit from a streamlined certifications process, with all data and results being retained by the Mobaro system to enable new permissions for tasks such as inspections.
New release
Mobaro’s new release complements the existing functionality of its system, with the Competency Management module integrating with core features such as checklists, compliance, schedules, and RideOps, the new ride operations module.
By combining features, Mobaro acts as an extra safeguard to prevent potential near-misses. For instance, maintenance engineers will be unable to open the checklist for inspecting a drop or launch tower unless they hold the relevant Working at Height certification on Mobaro’s system.
The same methodology would apply to a ride operator attempting to open a ride without being signed off by a manager – without training, the system will not approve operation.
A continually evolving service
Mobaro COO and co-founder Christoffer Borup comments proudly on the latest update; “We have been focused largely on enabling users to do their job more efficiently and with higher quality. However, we have not touched upon handling their qualifications. Until now that is.
“Having all certifications in one place gives a unique overview and assurance that your staff are fully equipped. And with the ability to demand certain competencies for certain procedures, you know that your staff will only be permitted to perform jobs in Mobaro that they are trained for.”
Mobaro is currently serving over 150 visitor attractions globally, with more plans to enhance the software further for its clients. The firm is already working on another major release with plans for a module that can efficiently manage assets such as spare parts and inventory. Further details will be announced later this year.
Attraction operators can find out more information about the enhanced Competency Management module on on Mobaro’s website.
The technology firm announced a new relationship with Karls Erlebnisdorf at the beginning of the year, with the German park chain benefitting from Mobaro’s maintenance software solution.
