Simtec Systems, a leader in motion simulation, has released a statement following the death of its CEO and owner, Bernd Kaufmann, who passed away on 7 July 2024:
“With Bernd, Simtec is losing a wonderful person and visionary. Bernd’s declared goal in recent years was to make Simtec independent of himself – to devote more time to travelling with his family and motorhome, and to prepare for retirement. Work on this goal had been a priority since the spring of 2022, made possible by the company structure developed over the past ten years.
“Since the beginning of the year, Bernd has led the company while sharing management responsibilities with Andreas Stickel, Philipp Hellwig, Dr. Robert Ekelhof, and his son, Philipp Kaufmann.
“The next steps we had planned together with Bernd must now be implemented at short notice due to this sad development. Andreas Stickel, who has been representing Simtec to our customers for many years, is taking over the role of managing director.
“Bernd has always been an optimist and has prepared the company well for the time without him. In this spirit, the Simtec team will continue Bernd’s life’s work.”
