TOR Systems, a ticketing and booking specialist, has recruited Gabriel Leatham, a Masters-degree educated software developer, who will now add to its expanding development team. The addition of this new highly skilled team member will allow the company to build on its existing software.
Sarah Bagg, TOR’s business development manager, says: “Having someone with this level of experience will bring huge benefits to the company, its development and our customers.
“We are the longest successfully operating ticketing supplier to the visitor attractions sector and our recruitment of Gabriel reflects our standing in the sector. We offer the best of both – personal service with world standard development.”
Creating innovative software
Speaking about his experience in software development, Leatham, a 27-year-old graduate with a Masters in International Relations, says:
“I’ve always found programming interesting, so when I was doing a really boring job in a call centre after I left university, I used any spare time to teach myself,” he said. After working on his skills, he went on to work at See Tickets, before arriving at TOR, where he uses frameworks and languages such as .NET, C#, Javascript, HTML and CSS. Leatham works from his home in Nottingham.
“The role consists of creating innovative software programmes so that tourism and leisure clients can set up tickets and events,” he adds. “This enables their customers to purchase tickets, membership, retail or gift vouchers, integrating our software with payment providers and other technology for a seamless experience”
An asset to the team
TOR Systems is continuing to grow and has several renowned clients in the UK, such as the National Memorial Arboretum, British Museum, Imperial War Museum, Royal Pavilion and Bewilderwood.
Chris Candeland, TOR’s lead software developer, says: “Gabriel has made a smooth transition to TOR Systems and he is going to be a great asset to the team, which will enable us to meet our goals of developing our feature-rich, Cloud-based ticketing solution.
Earlier this year, TOR also announced the appointment of Matt Steans, who joined the company as its new Support Desk Manager.
