Triotech’s STORM VR interactive simulator is ready to ship

Triotech launches The Storm

Triotech, the award-winning creator of media-based attractions, is beginning to ship the first units of its VR interactive simulator, the Storm.

Triotech is pleased to announce that the production line for its new coin-op VR interactive simulator, the Storm, is now up and running, and the first machines are now starting to ship out to clients. The product was first introduced at IAAPA Expo 2019 in Orlando, where it had a successful launch.

In fact, the company put an extra productions shift in place at its Joliette factory, in order to meet the huge demand for the Storm. This is a first for Triotech, which has been in business for over twenty years.

The Storm

“The demand for our new STORM has been incredible since we presented it at IAAPA,” says Ernest Yale, Triotech’s Founder and CEO. “Key to the STORM’s success is the fact that we worked closely with customers and distributors during the development and testing phase. The main ingredients are there; an amazing guest experience combined with strong ROI. This is supported by field test data showing strong earning numbers.”

This launch follows the success of the company’s previous coin-op simulators, the Typhoon and the Mad Wave Theatre. The Storm is a two-player game where players sit side-by-side on motion seats. However, in a world-first for coin-op VR games, players do not hold a controller. Instead, they interact by simple hand and arm motion. The game also features wind effects and motion, as well as exclusive content developed by the company.

This motion-powered interactivity encourages guests to play again, as they compete to get the highest score.

Earlier this year, Triotech announced the opening of three new media-based attractions at Resorts World Genting’s Skytropolis, an indoor theme park located in Malaysia’s Genting Highlands. The installation includes the biggest Triotech Dark Ride Theatre in Southeast Asia.
