Kim Schaefer President Two Bit Circus

Formerly CEO of Great Wolf Lodge, Kim Schaefer is now at Two Bit Circus, the world’s first micro-amusement park, spearheading the company’s development and expansion. In her previous role at Great Wolf, she oversaw the expansion of the company from one cabin to 15 indoor waterpark resorts and is now helping Two Bit Circus to develop a global network of micro-amusement parks, where one-acre entertainment complexes combine interactive technology with classic circus and carnival attractions.

The experimental entertainment company uses technology to create temporary micro-amusement parks and educational installations, including multi-person virtual reality and mixed-reality games. Its second location will open at the end of 2022, Two Bit Circus Dallas, in Texas, and the company also announced its immersive hotel concept, Revelers Resorts, in the summer of 2022.

It has acquired two former conference hotels, one in Denver, Colorado and the other in the New York City area, and plans to transform these into the world’s first Reveler’s Resorts interactive gameplay hotels.

Speaking to blooloop about what makes the Two Bit Circus model unique, Schaefer said:

“The type of experience that we create is appealing to everyone. I think that is what makes Two Bit Circus special. You can come as a corporate visitor; you can come on a night out with friends, or you can come as a family: it works for everybody. Our hardware and software allow us to be able to change that software if and when we need to, in order to be able to appeal to a certain audience.

When she first took on her role at Two Bit Circus, co-founder Brent Bushnell said: “Kim has been an advisor to the Company since we first pitched our tent.  We could not dream of a better addition to our executive team and lead for our location-based entertainment business. Her impressive range coupled with our roboticists, engineers, and carneys creates a dangerously productive team.”
