Kurt Stocks is president of Legoland California Resort. He joined Legoland California in 2020 as general manager after serving in the same position at Legoland Malaysia. Stocks has 20 years’ experience in sales, operations and general management. He started out as a professional rugby player before transitioning to a career in the health and fitness industry, working as managing director at Fitness First Malaysia.
“Kurt’s creativity, passion, and drive have been instrumental in shaping the theme park industry over the past year. Kurt’s leadership style is characterized by his ability to cultivate a positive work environment. His commitment to making Legoland California the best place to work and play is evident in the initiatives he has driven,” said one nominator.
Under Kurt’s guidance in 2024, Legoland California launched a new land called Dino Valley, a dinosaur-themed zone with two new rides, as well as North America’s first Lego World Parade.
“As the first Legoland park in North America, it’s remarkable to see how Legoland California’s legacy of play has inspired generations of families over the last 25 years,” said Stocks. “It’s a privilege for us to debut North America’s first-ever Lego World parade in 2024, alongside our newest land, Dino Valley, where the past comes roaring to life in Lego form.”
