Patrick Braillard is a senior show writer for Universal Creative, the company responsible for designing, developing and delivering rides, attractions, parks and resorts for Universal Destinations & Experiences. Braillard’s previous projects include the conceptualisation and execution of large-scale permanent attractions based on major intellectual properties such as Harry Potter.
Braillard has scripted, directed and collaborated on the design of entertainment installations that have been enjoyed by millions of guests. He is responsible for casting more than 1,000 actors each year for seasonal events as a member of the Halloween Horror Nights development team at Universal Orlando. In this role, he has conceived, collaborated on, and executed hundreds of haunted attractions throughout Halloween Horror Nights history for Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Japan.
Braillard is now working on Universal Epic Universe, the fourth theme park at Universal Orlando. Due to open in 2025, Epic Universe will have four themed lands, including the world’s largest Super Nintendo World. It is also tipped to feature rides and attractions based on Harry Potter and Universal’s classic monsters. Situated on 750 acres, it includes hotels, retail and F&B.
“Patrick brings a unique level of energy, truth, and IP knowledge to the projects he’s involved in. He knows how to find the balance between fan service and good storytelling, as well as understanding and being a champion for our legacy. Without him on board, I can assure you that Epic Universe would be quite a different park altogether,” said one person who nominated Braillard.
