Alterface, a leader in interactive technology, picked up several awards at IAAPA Expo Europe, with Popcorn Revenge and Sesame Street: Street Mission both being recognised.

Alterface is pleased to announce it enjoyed a busy and successful time at IAAPA Expo Europe in Paris last week, where it was showcasing its new interactive ride, Popcorn Revenge, as a turnkey solution.  The ride opened at Walibi Belgium in the spring and has already proved a hit with visitors. Now it has been recognised by the industry too, with a win at the Park World Excellence Awards.

After being nominated in four categories, Alterface won the award for Best Use of Technology at the Park World Excellence Awards for Popcorn Revenge’s Erratic Ride technology, along with its partner ETF Ride Systems. In addition to this, Sesame Street: Street Mission was awarded Family Ride of the Year. This popular ride is by Sally Dark Rides and features Alterface interactivity.

More awards success

The European Star Awards also took place during IAAPA Expo Europe and were held at Parc Asterix. Popcorn Revenge was recognised here too, winning the award for Europe’s Best New Ride 2019. Alterface collected the award together with Walibi Belgium as well as partners ETF Ride Systems and Jora Vision. Sesame Street: Street Mission was also recognised in the same category.

Trade show

The Alterface team was also present at the trade show, where they presented the company’s range of interactive technologies. Delegates were able to visit the Alterface booth to find out more about Popcorn Revenge, which is now available as a turnkey solution with the popular IP as well as a variety of merchandise.

During the IAAPA reception at the Jardin d’Acclamatation in Paris, attendees could enjoy the Alterface attraction Le Kinétorium. The Alterface team enjoyed success here too, with one team member reaching the highest score in defeating the aggressive plants attacking the Paris metro.

CEO and Founder Benoit Cornet says: “IAAPA Expo Europe has been an interesting show for Alterface. It’s always a great opportunity to interact with our customers, partners and industry journalists, which we all thank for visiting us. Our team has enjoyed the overwhelming interest and recognition for Popcorn Revenge, which is now just taking off, so watch out for more to come soon!”

Alterface also recently announced a new partnership with international digital projection company AVANZA for ScreenPLAY applications in location-based entertainment.
