ART Engineering, an amusement ride manufacturer that develops roller coasters, dark rides, carousels, water rides and more, is bringing its first Wild Swing to the UK with an installation at Paultons Park, a family-owned theme park in Hampshire.
The ride is set to open in 2026, and is part of the new Nordic-themed land named Valgard – Realm of the Vikings.
Milestone installation
Numerous attractions are being developed for the new £12 million land, including a roller coaster named Drakon, the park’s first roller coaster with inversions. The Wild Swing will feature as Valgard’s second major ride. This will be fully integrated into the themed land and will operate under the title “Vild Swing”.
Running on electric motors instead of hydraulics, ART Engineering’s Wild Swing has a maximum height of 12 metres with a compact footprint of just 11 x 6 metres. With a free-swinging gondola and 16 individual seats with restraints (8 on each side), the Wild Swing offers a thrilling yet family-friendly ride experience with no rollovers, which caters to riders from 90 cm / 36 inches tall.
“With the delivery to the UK, the Wild Swing celebrates another milestone since its first delivery in 2022,” says a spokesperson from the company.
“We thank the team at Paultons Park for their trust and look forward to realizing this project together.”
Last year, ART Engineering announced details of its new Family Spike Launch Coaster for potts park in Minden, Germany.
This innovative family roller coaster, named ‘Braus & Saus’, will be located in the park’s Wild Stone Age themed land. The ride reflects an ongoing partnership between ART Engineering and potts park, which saw the installation of a Wild Swing in 2023.
Also in 2024, the company celebrated the opening of four new Wild Swing attractions; at Futroscope, Tripsdrill, Family Park and Majaland Gdansk.
