Busch Gardens Tampa Bay‘s new coaster opens this spring

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has completed the track installation for Phoenix Rising, a new family-friendly suspended coaster.

The park announced on X, formerly Twitter, that the track installation is now 100 percent complete for Phoenix Rising, which opens this spring.

Inspired by the mythical phoenix, the new coaster “is packed with surprises and speeds up to 44 miles per hour”, according to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

“There’s nothing more exhilarating than a ride on the wings of the phoenix,” the park says.

“Experience a fiery blaze of immersive, family-friendly excitement as you soar above the Serengeti Plain and drop into fun-filled twists and turns on the new Phoenix Rising.”

Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, Phoenix Rising also features on-board audio and a unique soundtrack to enhance the ride experience.

Elsewhere, Busch Gardens Williamsburg has announced an opening date for its restored Loch Ness Monster coaster.

The 46-year-old coaster reopens on 10 May with new thrilling elements, an enhanced storyline, and innovative effects. Riders will travel through Scottish-themed terrain on a refurbished steel track.

“For several decades, we have committed to delivering great thrills and one-of-a-kind experiences for our guests,” Marc Swanson, CEO of United Parks & Resorts, said last year.

“We are excited to continue fulfilling that promise with both the addition of Phoenix Rising and the restoration of Loch Ness Monster.”

Several new attractions and experiences are coming to SeaWorld parks this year, including the new Penguin Trek coaster at SeaWorld Orlando and a jellyfish experience at SeaWorld San Diego.
