SeaWorld Orlando is installing the ride equipment and theming elements

After completing the ride track for its new Penguin Trek coaster, SeaWorld Orlando has shared a hard hat tour of the construction site.

In the video, Conner Carr, corporate manager of rides and engineering for United Parks & Resorts, said the team is “hard at work right now getting this incredible new attraction ready”.

On track to open this spring, Penguin Trek is the park’s first family launch coaster. It features an indoor and outdoor track, which ends in the penguin habitat.

Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), Penguin Trek offers two launches, a top speed of 43 mph, and a 3,020-foot track. Guests will ride in snowmobile-style vehicles, which were unveiled at IAAPA Expo 2023.

On these ride cars, they will travel through the Antarctic wilderness, navigating twists and turns and “narrowly escaping the crumbling hazards of an icy cavern,” according to SeaWorld.

Currently, SeaWorld Orlando is installing the ride equipment and theming elements, Carr said in the video.

Speaking to ClickOrlando, Carr teased the ride experience: “Ice will break away from you, and you’re going to dive into the ice around a bank turn and then as the ice is closing in on you through a tunnel, you’ll launch out of the building and out of the cave, where you’ll then make it onto the course outside you go through fun twisted turns around the ride.”

Penguin Trek will be SeaWorld Orlando’s eighth roller coaster and comes after Pipeline: The Surf Coaster, which opened last year.
