Comcast promotes Jason Armstrong to chief financial officer

He has served in financial leadership positions at Comcast Corporation for the past nine years.

NBCUniversal's parent companyComcast has promoted Jason Armstrongto chief financial officer. He succeedsMike Cavanagh,who was named president of the company in October.

Armstrong has served in financial leadership positions at Comcast Corporation for the past nine years. Most recently, he was the company's deputy chief financial officer and treasurer.


"Jason is ideally suited to be our next chief financial officer," said Cavanagh.

"He is a trusted voice in the financial community, has a great understanding of our company, and is well respected by our management team.

"Jason is already playing a pivotal role in shaping our long-term strategy and I couldn’t be more excited to partner with him going forward."

As deputy CFO, Armstrong oversaw Comcast's treasury and finance functions. He managed the corporation's capital formation, capital allocation, credit-related matters, and investment management activities.

Prior to that, he was Comcast's treasurer, the chief financial officer at Sky, and the head of investor relations and finance at Comcast.

Before joining Comcast in 2014, Armstrong worked at Goldman Sachs for 13 years. There, he served as managing director.
