This year’s class will present their businesses at Demo Day in November 2022.

Comcast has chosen 12 startups for its fifth Comcast NBCUniversal LIFT Labs Accelerator, including companies looking to innovate entertainment, gaming and the metaverse.

The startups in this year’s class will participate in an immersive 12-week programme and were selected from hundreds of applicants from more than 30 countries.

Danielle Cohn, VP of startup engagement and head of LIFT Labs, said Comcast will work with companies “at the forefront of new technologies in connectivity, media, and entertainment, with a curated, comprehensive and engaging program”.

“During the accelerator, and beyond, these founders will have unmatched opportunities to develop their emerging businesses and gain access to industry leaders and experts,” Cohn said.

Since the first class back in 2018, 43 companies have completed the accelerator. More than 70 percent of these have secured proofs of concepts, pilots or commercial deals with Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky.

This year’s class will be mentored by more than 100 industry leaders from across Comcast NBCUniversal and Sky, including Universal Studios, Universal Theme Parks, and DreamWorks Animation.
