Semnox Solutions, a technology provider for the entertainment and amusement industry, has announced a new partnership with Texas-based entertainment venue Lumos.
The attraction sought to create a technology-forward entertainment experience and worked with Semnox to develop a custom integration with a proprietary redemption system that would go beyond conventional cashless approaches.

Custom integration
Lumos has used the Semnox Parafait RFID cashless system across its arcade and attractions since its launch in October 2025. This combines cutting-edge RFID technology with a bespoke integration developed between Semnox and Lumos' proprietary redemption platform.
This delivers an integrated visitor journey that makes play and redemption simpler while minimising friction for both guests and staff.
Greg Little, president at Lumos, says: "We looked into the top cashless systems in the market and decided to move forward with Semnox for several reasons.
"We wanted a system that was simple to use, modern-looking, and inviting. But what has stood out most is the cooperation. Semnox did not just sell us equipment and a system and walk away. They continue to work with us to ensure we are getting the most out of it."
This approach was particularly key in creating Lumos's redemption experience. Instead of relying on a conventional redemption counter, Lumos developed a proprietary system that enables visitors to browse and order prizes digitally using their devices or a kiosk.
As part of this process, Semnox created a bespoke integration that deducts tickets from the visitor's RFID card in real time.
Lumos has found that once visitors place an order, they can collect their selected prizes through its locker system in about two minutes, without waiting in a redemption line.
Little says: "The custom integration with our proprietary and unique redemption system has been game-changing and has worked incredibly well.
"It allows guests to have an ‘Amazon-like’ experience shopping for their redemption prizes, and the Semnox integration deducts tickets from the guest's RFID card in real time, making the experience very simple for both guests and our team."
Ongoing relationship
For Lumos, the system's versatility has continued beyond the initial integration. As part of their ongoing partnership, the venue's leadership is working with Semnox on potential system upgrades. Informed by real-world operating experience, these developments seek to enhance both the visitor journey and revenue generation.
"The answer we receive from Semnox is rarely ‘no,’ but rather, ‘let's see what we can do'. They work to help us deliver the best guest experience to our guests. That is what we were seeking, a great partner," says Little.
The partnership also underscores the importance of implementation and post-launch support for introducing new technology and workflows.
Semnox delivered a blend of remote and onsite training and support, with a dedicated programme manager and solution specialist who supported Lumos through onboarding and ongoing operations.
Lumos and Semnox now speak monthly to discuss operational needs, system performance and opportunities for further development.
Bepin Jose, president of Semnox America, says: "As operators invest in technology, the real value comes from how well that technology supports the experience they are trying to create.
"Lumos had a clear vision for a highly intuitive, technology-forward guest journey, including a redemption experience that was uniquely their own.
"Our role was not simply to provide the platform, but to understand that vision, find ways to support it and remain engaged as their needs evolve."
This ongoing partnership has become increasingly vital as Lumos considers future promotions, seasonal activities, and new ways technology can support both the visitor experience and revenue growth.
For other operators assessing technology collaborations, Lumos' experience highlights the importance of looking beyond features and hardware to the provider's response once implementation begins and day-to-day issues arise.
"I would highly recommend the Semnox card reader system,” says Little. "It is high-quality hardware and a very reliable software back end that meets our needs. And the service has been stellar."
Earlier this month, Semnox Solutions and Uplay celebrated their first year of collaboration. During this time, more than six projects have been completed in the Netherlands and Belgium.
