Disney Cruise Linehas revealed that its new heroes and villains-themed ship, the Disney Destiny, will start sailing in December 2025.
Unveiled in March, the Disney Destiny is uniquely based on Disney's heroes and villains. The new Triton class ship is sister to theDisney Wishand Disney Treasure.
For the new vessel, Disney Cruise Line andWalt Disney Imagineeringwere inspired by the “dynamic duality of every great Disney story, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose”, Disney said in a previous press release.
During the voyage, guests will meet heroes and villains from films includingThe Lion King,HerculesandOne Hundred and One Dalmatians.
“TheDisney Destinywill celebrate our most legendary Disney stories and characters, bringing them to life in new and exciting ways exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests,” saidSharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager at Disney Cruise Line.
“As we continue to expand ourfleet, theDisney Destinywill further strengthen our position as a leader in family cruising as we offer even more ways for families to experience Disney magic and world-class service at sea.”
TheDisney Destinyis scheduled for delivery in 2025 as part of a multi-year expansion of the Disney Cruise Line fleet.

This includes theDisney WishandDisney Treasureships, the Disney Adventure that will homeport in Singapore, and the new island destination in the Bahamas,Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
Additionally, Disney Cruise Line andTokyo Disneylandoperator Oriental Land Company have announced plans for a new ship to sail from Japan.
Disney plans to spend $12 billion on new cruiseships, which is part of a total$60bn investmentin its parks, experiences and products segment.
