Some attraction and entertainment companies estimate that by 2013 up to half of the traffic to their web sites will be from mobile devices. Visitors to attractions will increasingly demand mobile options for all aspects of theme park visits including ticketing.

Gateway’s mobile web store allows visitors to purchase tickets via their mobiles before arrival.  Guests can also order additional items whilst inside the attraction with no need to return to the entrance gate.

The eGalaxy Mobile Web Store can help attractions improve operational efficiency, enhance the guest experience and increase revenues.  Guests are able to purchase tickets at their convenience with no need to queue and no more lost tickets.

Michael Furman, Gateway Ticketing Systems Director of Sales and Marketing says, “Gateway is excited to be able to respond to customer demand for a mobile phone ticketing module that functions as a fully integrated sales channel with their existing Galaxy system.”

The eGalaxy Mobile Web Store has the advantage of being a web based application so there is no app to download.  Gateway’s state of the art solution works any device with a web browser and internet connection, including the iPhone, Android devices and Blackberry phones.  The eGalaxy Mobile Web Store also operates independently from the customer’s store; this flexibility means that it can even be used by attractions who do not currently sell tickets through an eGalaxy product.

Gateway customer Michael Unger, the Information Technology Manager at the Maryland Zoo says, “Mobile transactions are increasingly coming to the forefront with patrons. I like the choice of jQuery Mobile framework for the UI design, this platform has much potential and flexibility for growth and customization. It also brings great benefits for the easy branding of sites as well as keeping UI elements fresh and visually appealing.”
