New park set to open on 15 March 2023, with first-of-its-kind immersive entertainment and attractions

Falcon’s Beyond Global, a fully integrated development enterprise for IP-driven parks, resorts, media and merchandise, has announced that its new world-class theme park, Katmandu Park | Punta Cana, will officially open to the public on 15 March 2023. The brand-new theme park in the Dominican Republic offers state-of-the-art, original rides and attractions that immerse visitors in the company’s original, proprietary franchise, The Hidden Realms of Katmandu.

Tickets are on sale now, with three ticket packages to choose from, allowing guests to customise their experience to best fit their needs.

Cutting-edge attractions on offer

Expedition Golf Katmandu Punta Cana

Katmandu Park is the Caribbean’s first world-class theme park and is home to a range of unique, high-tech attractions. This includes a new 4D interactive theatre, a 4D Dark Ride, and an interactive walkthrough attraction, as well as a Suspended Theater attraction that delivers an immersive experience unlike those often found at other parks.

Other attractions at the park include Expedition Golf, a 36-hole mini golf course that winds through caves and over mountains; High Point Adventure, an outdoor ropes course experience; The Quadagon, which offers four different indoor climbing walls for both adults and children; and the Wheel of Infinite Wonder, a carousel decorated in the style of Katmandu and featuring unique figures modelled after creatures from The Hidden Realms.

The park also provides a variety of themed eating and drinking establishments, carnival-style activities, retail stores, and an arcade.

BeyondME

BeyondME, a free-to-use fan loyalty and online gaming platform for all ages, will integrate the park experience by allowing visitors to earn and spend their “XP” experience points, connecting both real-life experiences inside the park and various digital experiences, such as mobile games, Roblox, and online shopping.

Visitors will be given a smart wristband that stores their attraction passes, enables cashless payments, and gives them access to BeyondME, a free fan loyalty and online game platform for all ages. Through it, visitors can create their own BeyondME identity, design their avatar, accumulate and use experience points (also known as XP), a form of virtual cash, and level up their status to receive more advantages.

BeyondME connects to numerous digital experiences, such as mobile gaming, Roblox, and online shopping, in addition to the real-world activities that take place inside the park, allowing users to earn and redeem XP in additional ways.

The company’s goal was to rethink the modern-day theme park. Traditional “mega park” experiences, or attractions dispersed over a huge footprint, have long dominated the industry. Falcon’s will provide a ground-breaking alternative with Katmandu Park by utilising the “Big Experience/Small Footprint” theme park concept, which offers high-quality experiences in a more compact setting.

Guests will enjoy a unique experience with seamlessly integrated storytelling. The park’s signature attractions exist independently inside the Katmandu franchise while being a part of one overarching, episodic tale. In order to provide visitors with a memorable experience that immerses them in the unfolding adventure, while allowing them to enjoy the attractions separately from one another, Falcon’s meticulously matched the Katmandu storyline to these attractions.

Introducing “resortainment”

A seamless fusion of entertainment experiences and first-rate resort amenities will be possible thanks to Katmandu Parks’ connections to top resort destinations. The first of these resorts, Falcon’s Resort by Meliá | All Suites Punta Cana, is a few steps from the park.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to announce the opening date for Katmandu Park | Punta Cana, which seamlessly blends first-of-its-kind immersive entertainment and attractions with premium hospitality, for the ultimate escape. We have structured ticketing in a way that offers fans the flexibility to explore the park however works best for their vacation, whether they want to visit once or return every day,” says Cecil D. Magpuri, CEO of Falcon’s Beyond.

“Being at the forefront of experiential innovation is a core value for Falcon’s Beyond and we look forward to providing guests with an experience that helps them create their own adventures in our immersive destinations.”

Last year, Falcon’s Beyond announced plans to become a publicly listed company on Nasdaq through a definitive merger agreement with FAST Acquisition Corp. II (“FAST II”) (NYSE: FZT), a special purpose acquisition company founded by Doug Jacob and headed by Sandy Beall. It also revealed plans for a new Falcon’s Creative Philippines, Inc. branch, in Metro Manila.
