Orlando-based theme parks Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, and Legoland Florida will reopen today (11 October) after closing due to Hurricane Milton.
“We’re grateful Walt Disney World Resort weathered the storm,” Disney said in a weather update, adding that the parks and Disney Springs will reopen today.
“Our hearts are with our fellow Floridians who were impacted by this storm,” Disney said.
Universal Orlando said in an update: “Our hearts are with all those impacted by Hurricane Milton, and we are dedicated to helping our community recovery. We are also grateful for the hard work of our team Members during this challenging time.”

The resort confirmed that it will resume normal operations today across all of its parks and CityWalk. Additionally, Halloween Horror Nights is returning this evening.
Over at SeaWorld Orlando, normal operating hours will resume today, although the Spooktacular and Howl-O-Scream are cancelled.
“Our hearts are with all those impacted by Hurricane Milton,” SeaWorld‘s statement said. “We are grateful for our ambassadors who came in following the storm to ensure our park is ready to welcome you tomorrow.”
United Parks & Resorts is keeping Busch Gardens Tampa closed today as the park is evaluated and assessed. Howl-O-Scream is also cancelled.
Zoos and aquariums to reopen
The company said: “We are grateful for our dedicated team of animal care experts, including veterinarians, who remained onsite during the storm to monitor the animals, and we appreciate our ambassadors who are onsite to help ensure our park is ready to welcome you.”
Legoland Florida is also reopening today. The resort said: “Our hearts are with all those impacted by Hurricane Milton and we are grateful for the hard work of our employees during this time.”
Hurricane Milton came ashore as a major storm on Wednesday (9 October). Other visitor attractions to close for the hurricane included the Florida Aquarium and ZooTampa.
The Florida Aquarium plans to reopen today, but ZooTampa remains closed. The latter said its animals are safe, and ZooTampa said it is working on recovering from the impacts of the hurricane.
