Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) launched the Mina Al Sultan Qaboos Waterfront project at an official ceremony which included the announcement of key strategic partnerships.
The four phase integrated mixed-user scheme, to be completed by 2020, in the Port Sultan Qaboos area will be a tourism-based development with business and residential zones, including a shopping centre, six hotels, recreation amenities and tourist attractions. In addition there will be docking facilities for cruise liners and yachts.Commercial partnerships announced include:
- Foster & Partners and Hoehler and Al Salmy as architectural consultants
- Blizzard Brothers to manage the first phase construction activity of Souq Al Mina
- Omani company HD23, a joint venture with Nadia Al Lawati, Architect and Owner of 23 Degrees North, and Harper Downie, as lead consultants and master planners.
- Project design led by Oman architect Nadia Al Lawati.
