Hong Kong Disneyland‘s multi-year expansion continues

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Hong Kong Disneyland has shared new concept art of its upcoming Marvel and Pixar attractions.

The theme park, which opened on 12 September 2005, announced plans to expand its Marvel experiences during last year’s D23 fan event.

Hong Kong Disneyland is adding a new themed area called Stark Expo, as well as a new Spider-Man attraction, to an extended zone of Tomorrowland.

Alongside the concept art of the new attraction, Hong Kong Disneyland wrote: “Team up with the Avengers for an unexpected adventure in the thrilling new Marvel-themed experience – only at Hong Kong Disneyland.

“From attractions to epic entertainment and shopping, Marvel fans won’t want to miss this.”

Hong Kong Disneyland is already home to two Marvel attractions – Iron Man Experience and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle, both of which are exclusive to the park.

The new Marvel ride, according to the concept art, looks like it could be a drop tower similar to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

In addition to the new Marvel experiences, Hong Kong Disneyland has shared new concept art of “a brand-new immersive theatrical adventure with your favorite Pixar pal like never before”.

The attraction will use “cutting edge theatrical technology that blends real and digital environments to connect generations of Pixar fans”, the park said.

In late 2023, Hong Kong Disneyland opened the world’s first Frozen-themed land as part of its multi-year expansion plan.

World of Frozen features two rides, as well as dining and retail experiences, and a unique interactive show featuring Anna, Elsa and Olaf.

Earlier this year, Hong Kong Disneyland reported its highest net profit, revenue, attendance and EBITDA since opening in 2005.
