IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, has announced that it has made three new appointments to its senior leadership team. These significant hires will support the association’s commitment to promoting the global attractions industry.
Jack Chan joins the association as executive director and vice president of the IAAPA Asia-Pacific region (APAC). Chan is renowned for his work in the attractions sector and will lead IAAPA’s APAC strategy. He joins the team from accesso, where he was the Asia Pacific sales director.
Chan brings a comprehensive knowledge of the sector and IAAPA, with a vast network and strong sales experience. His thorough understanding of the APAC market will support the association’s efforts to assist and promote the sector throughout the region.
IAAPA welcomes Jorge Cabrera to the role of senior vice president, people development. Cabrera has an exceptional track record as a leader in organisational culture and talent development. He joins IAAPA from Fun Spot and has a wealth of prior experience working internationally for companies like SeaWorld, Aeroméxico, and PepsiCo.
Cabrera will play a key role in strengthening the association’s dedication to developing industry talent. In addition to overseeing the internal people and culture development, his skills will drive projects that assist the professional growth and development of IAAPA members across the globe.
Christy Spahn joins IAPPA as vice president of expo sales and operations. Spahn is a specialist in exhibition and operations management. She was formerly the senior vice president of sales at the National Restaurant Association and has more than ten years of experience in the association and expo industries. Spahn’s event management expertise will enhance all three IAAPA Expos, as lead for the sales and exhibition operations teams.
In addition, Stacey Mills has been promoted to head of global expo operations. Mills is a longstanding member of the IAAPA team and is promoted from her previous role of senior director of conference and trade show operations. In this new role, Mills will be responsible for the development and coordination of the three international IAAPA Expos.

IAAPA recently revealed highlights from the programme for this year’s IAAPA Expo Europe. The event is taking place from 25-28 September at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center in Vienna, Austria.
