Jais Sledder in Ras Al Khaimah reaches speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour as riders enjoy spectacular views of Jebel Jais.

Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE has opened the region’s longest toboggan ride, Jais Sledder, at the Jais Adventure Park. The exhilarating attraction can be found on the UAE’s highest mountain, Jebel Jais.

Jais Sledder reaches speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour, with riders enjoying stunning views as they travel along 1,885 metres of track. The ride’s sleds are designed to seat two people.

“It has been an incredibly busy time as the emirate continues to develop and build on its reputation not only the adventure capital of the Middle East but also as a family focused destination,” said Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.

Phillips added: “Jais Sledder forms part of the half a billion dirham investment announced in 2021, in partnership with RAK Leisure and RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is the first of 20 planned projects throughout the emirate.”

Additional attractions at Jais Adventure Park include Jais Flight, the world’s longest zip line, and the world’s first Bear Grylls Explorers Camp. Also on offer are the Jais Sky Tour zip line circuit and the Jais Sky Maze.

“We are delighted to bring yet another unique attraction to Jebel Jais’ collection of iconic experiences, giving visitors even more options to experience the UAE’s highest peak,” said Alison Grinnell, CEO of RAK Hospitality Holding.

“As we continue to enhance the mountain, while still sustaining and maintaining the environment, we hope to further cement our position as the adventure hub of the region and provide a variety of exceptional attractions and experiences for everyone to enjoy.”

Marjan, RAK Hospitality Holding and Wynn Resorts Limited are also developing a multi-billion dollar integrated resort (IR) on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah.
