Kongeparken (King Park), a theme park near the Norwegian city of Stavanger, has named Vibeke Fjordbakk as its new CEO.
Per a press release, Fjordbakk is an experienced and hands-on leader with a background in tourism management and attraction development. She will begin her new role at Kongeparken in Ålgård on 1 December.
“I’m eager to contribute to the local community and firmly place Ã…lgÃ¥rd on the map as a key destination,” Fjordbakk said in a statement.
“I’m fortunate to step into a well-run park with great values, fantastic colleagues, and so much potential to build on!”
A new chapter for Kongeparken
Kongeparken is owned by the Norwegian family company Lund Gruppen, established in 1895. The group is one of Scandinavia’s biggest players in the entertainment industry.
In addition to Kongeparken, Lund Gruppen owns Skånes Djurpark in southern Sweden, the Lunds Tivoli travelling carnival, and the Lund Gruppen Arrangement festival division.
Fjordbakk, who has four children, added: “I have a broad and very opinionated advisory panel at home.”
Glenn André Viste Bøe, managing director of parks at Lund Gruppen, said: “Over the past year, we’ve been searching for the next CEO of Kongeparken.

“After a thorough process, Vibeke emerged as a great fit. We’re excited to see her take Kongeparken to the next level as a destination.”
As part of her role at Kongeparken, Fjordbakk will support young workers at the park. “We will see and support every young employee, ensuring they are well cared for,” she said.
“Kongeparken is a fantastic workplace that offers tremendous opportunities for personal growth. There are countless examples of young people starting their careers here and achieving great success within Kongeparken and beyond.”
