Mattel Adventure Park in Glendale, Arizona will feature brands including Barbie, Masters of the Universe and Mattel Games when it opens in the first quarter of 2023.
Announced last year, the Mattel-themed attraction will also include a Hot Wheels roller coaster and go-karting experiences, and a Thomas & Friends indoor theme park.
“Mattel Adventure Park will be even more engaging and entertaining at launch, with the addition of these iconic Mattel brand experiences,” said Julie Freeland, senior director of global location-based entertainment at Mattel.Â
“The expansion of this flagship attraction brings together the largest representation of Mattel’s beloved brands in a live space as never before.”
Barbie-themed offerings at Mattel Adventure Park include the Barbie Beach House, which will house a flying theatre attraction, as well as the ‘Dream Closet Experience’ and ‘Barbie Rooftop’.Â
In the former, Barbie will be brought to life through state-of-the-art hologram technology to curate the ultimate wardrobe. The Barbie Rooftop is an F&B outlet serving pink beverages and sweet and savoury snacks.
In addition, the Mattel Games portfolio will become an immersive mini-golf experience. It will feature an oversized Pictionary game board, a UNO climbing structure and the Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots.
As for Mattel’s Masters of the Universe, the iconic Castle Grayskull is being transformed into a state-of-the-art laser tag arena.

“We are extremely excited to add Barbie, Masters of the Universe and Mattel Games themed attractions and rides to an already outstanding offering in development at the first-ever Mattel Adventure Park.”
Mattel Adventure Park was announced last year as part of a resort formerly known as Crystal Lagoons, which is now under new ownership being rebranded, Phoenix Business Journal reports.
Mattel has also created an immersive attraction called ‘World of Barbie’, which features human-sized playsets including Barbie’s iconic dreamhouse. World of Barbie is kicking off its tour of North America in Toronto this summer.
