The current Chairman of Meeras Holding, which owns a majority share in Dubai Parks and Resorts, has been named the new Chairman of Dubai Holding.
Abdulla Al Habbai (above) will hold both positions concurrently, according to the Dubai Government’s Media Office.
Dubai Holding owns Dubai Properties, the business parks operator Tecom and the Jumeirah Hospitality Group. The company has set itself a target of achieving an annual profit of Dh10bn by 2020.
Al Habbai steps into the shoes of Mohammed Al Gergawi, Dubai Holding’s founding chairman. He has stepped down after 18 years.
Al Gergawi led the company from a start-up with 20 employees to a group with over Dh100 billion in assets and 22,000 employees in 21 countries.
