Meraas Announces Bio-Dome Attraction The Green Planet Dubai

News

Dubai-based holding company, Meraas, is creating the region’s first bio-dome as part of a suite of development projects at CITY WALK, Dubai.

The Green Planet aims to recreate the biodiversity of a tropical forest with over 3000 plants and animals.

Designed using eco-friendly principles, the new attraction has been awarded the global LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.

The Green Planet’s centrepiece is a 25 metre-high tree – the largest indoor man-made and life-sustaining tree in the world.

Meraas says the bio-dome has been created to inspire and educate visitors of all ages about the wonders of the natural world.

The attraction will feature exhibitions and displays to encourage guests to explore the inner workings of the ecosystem in more detail.

The Green Planet is one of three new attractions Meraas has planned for CITY WALK in 2016. Mattel Play! Town, a branded eduplay centre and Hub Zero, a gaming-inspired immersive indoor park are also slated to open shortly.

Meraas Leisure & Entertainment division’s current offering includes The Dome Box – the region’s first 360-degree dome theatre, Splash Pad – a wet play attraction for kids and Reel Cinemas THE BEACH.
