Disneyland Resort president Ken Potrock has revealed that construction is underway on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, now set to open in California in 2023.

Ken Potrock posted a photo and timelapse video of the ride’s construction on Instagram, writing: “I am thrilled to share my ‘Happiest View on Earth’ with you today, a special peek outside a window at our Team Disney Anaheim building.

“This particular view offers a behind-the-magic look at a momentous milestone that happened today at Disneyland park – the first steel beam has been placed for what will be the future Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction, scheduled to open for guests in 2023!”

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios takes place inside the Chinese Theatre. It will be located at the El CapiTOON Theater at Disneyland’s Toontown.

The ride, Disney’s first ride-through attraction featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse, opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World in March.

The state-of-the-art attraction uses cutting-edge technology, Audio-Animatronics figures, animated media, projection mapping, and trackless vehicles.
