Mobaro, a provider of online maintenance and safety solutions, is reflecting on a recent success at Motiongate Dubai. In December 2022, the operator challenged its ride operations team to see how much they could outperform the results from the last year and to establish a new way of tweaking performance.
The park had already successfully brought in Mobaro in the 2021 season, including RideOps, and was looking to use the platform to its full potential, for monitoring and adjusting its ride operations.
The team at Motiongate says: “We decided to raise the bar in ridership throughput and with the help of RideOps, the result was quite remarkable.”
Dispatch time vs. speed breakers
The rides and attractions team established optimum dispatch times for each ride to precisely compare with the live ride data gathered in RideOps, in order to build a representative data foundation. To optimise the throughput, they also identified a number of speed breakers or bottlenecks; anything that might slow down the throughput for each ride,
The ride operations leadership team then began hourly performance monitoring, after this groundwork was laid. Team leaders would follow up if dispatch times for a particular ride were longer than anticipated in order to make adjustments and correct the situation.
30% increase and no visitor complaints
The setup was carried out for one month, and the findings revealed that the extra effort had helped the teams outperform themselves by 30% when compared to the same time last year. In addition to the performance increase, they noted that during the same period, the overall guest satisfaction scores exceeded targets.
“We will definitely be integrating this approach as it evidently enables us to both track, analyse, and act continuously,” says the rides and attractions leadership team at Motiongate Dubai. “The results speak for themselves.”
Mobaro recently onboarded a selection of new water parks from across the US ahead of the 2023 summer season. The Mobaro community has welcomed Santa’s Village, as well as the waterparks of Destination El Paso, Splash Kingdom, Kentucky Kingdom’s Hurricane Bay, and Splash Country.
