Walt Disney World has announced more details about new rides and attractions set to open in 2025 and 2026, including Zootopia: Better Zoogether! 4D show, the refreshed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and more.
Opening on 7 November 2025, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is a new 4D attraction that invites visitors to celebrate Zoogether Day, a holiday honouring Zootopia’s diverse biomes.
At the Tree of Life Theater, the new show expands on the popular Walt Disney Animation Studios films Zootopia and Zootopia 2, featuring beloved furry characters and new ones. Alongside Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and a new character created specifically for the attraction – host Heidi Howler – guests will participate in a watch party featuring performances celebrating the special occasion.
Just outside the theatre in Discovery Island, guests can meet Judy and Nick in their new looks from Zootopia 2 at the dedicated character greeting area called the Zoogether Day Gathering Spot.
Mountains, muppets, and more
Looking ahead to 2026 at Magic Kingdom Park, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will reopen. The attraction is being renovated, with its familiar loops and drops being refreshed for both new and returning guests. New renderings showcase some upcoming experiences, including a trip through the stunning Rainbow Caverns, which may be more ominous than they initially appear.
Also in 2026, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Under new management led by the legendary Muppets tycoon and owner of The Muppet Theatre, J. P. Grosse, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard will be filled with new vibes, including a new psychedelic wrap on the giant guitar marquee—featuring a gold key on the piano motif as a nod to the band leader’s gold tooth.
The preshow takes place at the recording studio, where Scooter Grosse’s nephew and his penguin audio engineers are trying to convince the band to end their session and get across town and onstage on time. Guests will then enjoy an exhilarating ride across Hollywood with the help of Muppet Labs and a super-fast limousine, accompanied by Electric Mayhem’s iconic hits.
2026 will also see the introduction of a new gameplay experience at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom Park, a fresh adventure inspired by Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian and Grogu on Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and, as recently announced, The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
