Nickelodeon Universe is set to reopen at the Mall of America on August 10, following nearly five months of closure during the outbreak of COVID-19.

It will reopen with health and safety measures, and the Mall of America has been working with state and national organisations as well as industry experts to establish reopening protocols.

Nickelodeon Universe will operate with a significantly reduced capacity of 250 people, and capacity will be controlled by only allowing guests through a single entry point.

Visitors can purchase a two-hour ticket, which will let them enjoy unlimited attractions within the time frame at the retailtainment destination.

As capacity is likely to be reached early in the day, guests can join a virtual queue and will be notified when they are able to enter Nickelodeon Universe.

Visitors over the age of three will be required to wear face masks at all times, including on attractions and rides. Guests can remove their face masks when eating or drinking.

In addition, guests are required to sanitise their hands before entering attractions, with sanitising stations located at the entrance and exit of each attraction.

Attractions will be sanitised after each ride, and team members will assign seats for each attraction. There will also be social distancing floor marker in queue lines.

“Reopening Nickelodeon Universe – even with significantly reduced capacity – is a positive step forward,” said Jill Renslow, EVP of business development and marketing for Mall of America.

“This is a process, and we will continue to learn, evaluate, and if needed, enhance, this new Nickelodeon Universe experience in the coming weeks and months.

“We are confident in the health and safety protocols we have in place and look forward to welcoming back guests of all ages to Nickelodeon Universe.”

Some attractions will not be available at Nickelodeon Universe, which will be open between 11am and 7pm daily.
