Batman: Gotham City Escape includes four inversions, three launches and 12 airtime moments.

Parque Warner Madrid has opened its new multi-launch coaster, a Batman-themed ride featuring a 45-metre top hat and coaster trains inspired by the Batmobile.

Batman: Gotham City Escape is a €20 million roller coaster constructed by Intamin, a creator of record-breaking amusement rides.

It includes four inversions, 12 airtime moments, three launches, a top speed of more than 100 km/h, and a track length of more than 1,010 metres.

Additional highlights for adrenaline junkies include two corkscrews, a 147-foot beyond-vertical drop, a zero-g stall, a reverse sidewinder, and two LSM launches.

During the 111-second ride experience, guests will meet characters including Batman, the Joker, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. They will also travel through locations such as Wayne Manor, the Batcave, Robinson Park, and the Gotham Subway.

“Wayne Manor opens its doors to promote tourism in Gotham City so that visitors can see and learn about the relics and stories housed in the famous house,” says Parque Warner Madrid.

Thrilling DC-themed ride experience

“Once inside, visitors will be immersed in an action-packed story between Batman and the Joker, with the famous superhero trying to help them escape.”

The only way to escape from Gotham City, the park says, is “through this multi-launch roller coaster, the only one of its kind in Europe”.

Parque Warner Madrid has been operated by Parques Reunidos since 2007. It provides 34 attractions, 10 retail outlets and 28 dining facilities, as well as an adjacent water park.

Warner Beach, which debuted in 2014, is the first water park in the world to be inspired by Warner Bros.

Elsewhere, Parc Astérix has opened its new €36m land, ‘Festival Toutatis’. The themed area and the Intamin multi-launch coaster that anchors it are named after the Gaulish god Toutatis.

Toutatis is Parc Astérix’s eighth roller coaster, and its new signature attraction.
