Scruffy Dog Creative Group (SDCG), a leading creative design and delivery company, has announced that its newly launched M.A.D Models division has already contributed to a major theme park project in Ireland.
Emerald Park, a popular theme park and zoo near Dublin, commissioned M.A.D Models to create a scale model of its upcoming 6.5-acre expansion, Tír na nÓg, in order to bring the creative vision for the new themed land to life.
The model was created to offer an engaging sneak peek of the anticipated attractions, which will include two intertwining steel rollercoasters, alongside food stands, and a variety of additional attractions.
Expert craftsmanship
The majority of the elements were rendered digitally. However, manual skill was needed to create the rollercoaster tracks. The wire tracks were expertly crafted by the M.A.D Models team, who accurately re-created the pattern of the intertwining steel coasters. In addition, the landscaped areas received thoughtful extra details such as grass and trees. The end result is a lifelike representation that captures the wonder of the future zone.
Regarding the collaboration, Friedemann Wocke, head of SDCG’s M.A.D Models division said: “This has been such a great project for our team. It was exciting for us to use such a range of techniques – especially doing so much by hand – but we’re really happy with the final product and makes for a really evocative display piece.”
The completed scale model of Tír na nÓg has been delivered to its new location at Emerald Park in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. This fascinating model has been placed in the park’s entrance building and is being shown inside an acrylic case as a permanent exhibit, to give visitors a unique look into the incredible experiences waiting for them in the park’s exciting future.
M.A.D Models launched earlier this year as SDCG’s new architectural model-making division. The M.A.D modelling team is located within the firm’s cutting-edge production facility in Birmingham, UK, where they will work on creating a wide range of detailed and accurate scale models. The name, which stands for Make A Difference, is a statement of the team’s dedication to doing exceptional work that distinguishes them from competitors in the sector.
