Six Flags Announces New Rides and Attractions for 2014

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the world’s largest regional theme park company, has announced the line-up of new rides and attractions for 2014, including a new waterpark at Six Flags Over Georgia.

Six Flags is going bigger each year as we create fun, thrilling and lasting memories for our guests.”

Highlights:

Six Flags Over Georgia: Hurricane Harbour, a new tropically-themed water park inside the theme park, will feature an 800, 000 gallon wave pool, the world’s first water slide that blends both a swirling-bowl feature and a tornado-wave feature into one slide, a multi-slide tower and an interactive children’s area.

Six Flags White Water: A new entertainment stage that will also host live entertainment performances and expand Dive-in Movies. 

Six Flags Great America: Goliath, set to be the most extreme wooden coaster on the planet breaking three world records: the world’s fastest wooden roller coaster and the world’s tallest and steepest drop on a wooden coaster. Goliath will take riders up a 165-foot lift hill, then plunge down a 180-foot, 85-degree drop. Riders will experience record-breaking speeds of up to 72 mph and three over-banked turns, a 180-degree Zero-G roll, an inverted drop and an inverted Zero-G stall.

Six Flags Great Adventure: Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom will be the world’s tallest drop ride.  Zumanjaro will lift riders 415 feet into the sky, twice as high as the Statue of Liberty, and rocket them back to earth at 90 mph while trains from the Kingda Ka roller coaster next door launch directly toward them at speeds of up to 128 mph.  

Six Flags New England:  The New England SkyScreamer swing ride – a 400-foot aerial adventure that will lift guests 40 stories into the air and spin them at speeds of 40 mph. 

Six Flags New England:  The New England SkyScreamer Six Flags Mexico: The Medusa rollercoaster will be re-engineered into a state-of-the-art hybrid coaster and emerge as Medusa Steel Coaster. The classic wooden structure will have a new steel track providing a smoother, faster and more thrilling ride with a 117-foot drop, four over-banked turns and three exciting full inversions along more than 3, 000 feet of track.

Six Flags America: A new Mardi Gras-themed area will have two new rides: Ragin’ Cajun, a spinning, fast-track roller coaster will tilt and zigzag guests through quick twists, tight curves and drops while French Quarter Flyers, a family-friendly ride, will allow kids and adults to pilot and control their own ride experience.

Six Flags Over Texas:  A new interactive play area with kids rides and at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, a new multi-featured water slide.

La Ronde:  DÉMON, an extreme new ride two large metallic arms that will swing the 32 passengers upside down up to 45 feet high and twirled around while sixteen water jets spout from below.

Six Flags Magic Mountain: For a limited time, the suspended coaster, BATMAN The Ride and the wooden coaster, Colossus, will run backwards.  In addition the children’s area will be revitalised with a new coaster in Bugs Bunny World and a show in the Carrot Club Theater.  At Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, Bonzai Pipelines – two body slides – and Dive-in Movies in the wave pool.

Six Flags Great Escape:  Extreme Supernova – suspended from an overhead axis, 16 riders will fly head-over-heels up to 50 feet in the air as land and sky become one through dual swinging and spinning motions. Once the outward-facing riders are secured and the floor drops from below, Extreme Supernova will swing back and forth while guests are spun in endless circles delivering maximum G-Forces and high-flying sensations. 

Six Flags St. Louis:  Tsunami Soaker – riders plast other riders with giant water pistols.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom:  Tsunami Soaker (see Six Flags St. Louis) Cirque Dreams Splashtastic – the Most Amazing Show Above H2O returns and the park extends its operations to open all year round for 2014.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas: Bahama Blaster – a multiple lane trap-door free-fall waterslide at the park’s White Water Bay water park. 

Fright Fest®:  This Fall at all Six Flags parks.
