Six Flags Great Americain Gurnee, Illinoishas shared a POV video for its new record-breaking dive coaster, Wrath of Rakshasa.
Due to open this summer, Wrath of Rakshasa will feature a 171-foot drop at a 96 degree angle, with a cliffhanger just before the drop. This is described as the world’s steepest.
Also, thenewcoasterwill offer five inversions – the most inversions of any dive coaster in the world. The 180-foot-tall ride will boast speeds of nearly 67 miles per hour and 3,239 feet of track.
ParkpresidentJohn Krajnak said last year: "Six Flags Great America continues to push the limits of innovation and thrills, as we introduce the world’s steepest drop with the most inversions on a dive coaster.
“Wrath of Rakshasa joins our already impressive lineup of record-breakingroller coastersand attractions at the park, demonstrating our commitment to delivering cutting-edge experiences for our guests.”
In November, Six Flags announced it plans to invest more than $1 billion over the next two years across its network of 42theme parks.
After last year’smergerwith Cedar Fair, the new Six Flags will spend the money on rides, attractions, themed areas, F&B upgrades, and infrastructure and technology enhancements.
