Alan Mahony is the executive director, attractions at Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN). He started in the attractions industry at Wet’n’Wild Waterworld Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia back in the mid-eighties, before moving on to lead the development and operations of the world’s first Warner Bros. Movie World park, on the Gold Coast of Australia.
Mahony moved to Asia in 1996 to develop and operate one of China’s leading water parks, then during the following 25 years in Asia, developed and operated leading projects including Chimelong Water Park and Beijing Watercube Waterpark in China, Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia and Aquaventure and the Lost Chambers Aquarium at Atlantis Sanya.
Mahony implemented successful strategies to ensure positive trading during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in record attendance for Atlantis Sanya and revenue growth.
It was good fun and it's great to see what the new innovations were. So it was it was almost like sitting in 20 meetings in one day. It was amazing.
