TEA SATE 2022

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), a non-profit representing compelling places and experiences worldwide, is inviting submissions for presentations ahead of TEA SATE 2022 in Las Vegas, which takes place from 13 – 15 October.

This year’s conference theme is Industry Innovations and Beyond. During the event, industry leaders and creative thinkers will gather to connect, inspire one another, and discuss the tools needed to move forward.

As preparations for the event get underway, the co-chairs are now looking for around 15-20 programming segments across the two-day conference.

Exploring innovation

Submissions are particularly welcomed on the topics of:

  • The world around us: sensory innovation (sound, lighting, show sets), psychological innovation (thrill, emotions, choice and personalization) and experiential innovation (museums, mixed reality, media personalization, replayability, live streaming).
  • Practical applications: risks and rewards of innovation, models and challenges of leadership, the role of diversity and inclusion in innovation and how-tos of leadership and innovation.
  • Learning from Las Vegas: Vegas past and present, revitalization and reinvention, other centres of innovation in the US and globally, esports, brand experiences, and spectacle.
  • Beyond the pandemic: innovation in the retail and cruise industries driven by the pandemic. (technology, entertainment, storytelling, infrastructure), how the industry has responded to other societal disruptors (9/11, financial crisis, domestic terrorism) and living in the new future (safety and preparation, new experiences, other improvements).

Speakers can be individuals or moderated groups. For more information on how to submit a proposal, please click here. Submissions must be received by 5 pm PST on Friday 10 June 2022.

Last month, members gathered at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim for the TEA Summit and Gala 2022. Day one of the TEA Summit looked at trends shaping the future and best practice. It also recognised some of the award winners. Meanwhile, day two of the TEA Summit celebrated the 2022 Thea Award-winning projects.
