Triotech webinar reveals details about new Hyper Ride attraction

News
Triotech Hyper-Ride webinar on demand

The latest Blooloop Innovation Session, presented in partnership with Triotech, explored Triotech’s latest award-winning dark ride, Hyper Ride.

President, CEO and founder of Triotech, Ernest Yale, spoke with Charles Read, MD of Blooloop, about the main features of Hyper Ride and explained what makes it unique.

An anchor attraction for a smart budget

Hyper Ride uses the latest technology to bring a media-based dark ride, that brings a destination park level experience to smaller venues during a 4 minute experience for guests. “Hyper Ride is a way to get a world-class, next generation, exciting, attraction at a fraction of the cost of a larger attraction,” Yale explained.

It is targeted at local amusement parks, larger FECs, shopping centres and LBE venues. A Hyper Ride will open in Clifton Hill in summer 2022 and a shopping centre outside of Paris is already open. Yale says that it is perfect for shopping centres or FECs as people are trying to get out of the house and have different experiences.

The ride can go “literally anywhere… the idea is to be where people don’t expect you to be”. Putting a Hyper Ride in will show visitors that you are the biggest and best venue in the local area as it becomes an anchor attraction.

Triotech hyper ride motion platform

Innovative movement system

The motion of the cart is the most innovative part of this new dark ride. The vehicle features the Triotech motion seat technology on a moving platform to create “motion on motion”. For Yale, “it feels a bit like a rollercoaster”. This creates an action-packed experience.

The ride is also fully interactive and allows guests to compete with the other players. The individual scoring system creates a competitive dynamic and encourages repeat rides.

The ride has a much smaller footprint than other dark rides. It can also be fitted into a building with columns and low ceilings. Triotech has a 7 and 5-screen version, but Yale explained that Triotech is currently looking at creating a 2-screen attraction for even smaller venues.

New content will be released continuously for the ride, allowing for repeat visitation. The media-based 2D content can be changed with the push of a button. Attractions can also use their own IP or licensed IP. Yale also emphasised that Triotech is always looking for new content developers and encourages them to get in touch via the link below.

We then had a sneak-peak of the construction of the new Carnival Chaos Hyper Ride at Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls. Harry Oakes, Owner of Clifton Hill’s parent company HOCO, shared footage of the building site. There will be a heavily themed exterior for the attraction that is about 6,000 square feet. The ride features seven screens with LED light show arches to create a strong atmosphere for each of the four zones of the ride.

Yale then answered questions from the audience. In response to one question, he explained that the screens are projector based rather than LED. Whilst they are 2D at the moment, Triotech is looking to implement 3D options in the future. To learn more about Hyper Ride please get in touch with the Triotech team here.
