Southeast Asia‘s first Minion Land is underway

Universal Studios Singapore has unveiled its new Minion Land, opening at the park at Resorts World Sentosa in 2025.

Inspired by Illumination’s Despicable Me and Minions franchises, the land will feature rides like ‘Despicable Me Minion Mayhem’ and a new carousel exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore called ‘Buggie Boogie’.

The theme park‘s upcoming land includes three areas – Minion Marketplace, Gru’s Neighbourhood, and Super Silly Fun Land.

At Minion Marketplace, guests will shops for sweet treats, toys and accessories in ‘Sweet Surrender’, ‘Pop Store’ and ‘Fun Store’.

New rides, retail and F&B

In Gru’s Neighbourhood, visitors will find the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction, a motion simulator ride that takes guests through Gru’s super villain laboratory and turns them into Minions for his latest scheme.

At Super Silly Fun Land, guests will enjoy rides such as Buggie Boogie and ‘Silly Swirly’. F&B can be found at Super Hungry Food Stand and Pop-A-Nana.

Games include ‘Ba-Na-Na CaBaNa’ and ‘Space Killer’, which is based on the ‘Super Silly Space Killer’ arcade game in Despicable Me. Guests can win prizes like Fluffy, Agnes’ plush unicorn.

“We are thrilled to bring Illumination’s Minion Land to Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa and transport fans in Southeast Asia into the world of Illumination’s globally popular Despicable Me franchise,” said Lee Shi Ruh, president of Resorts World Sentosa.

“With its exciting line up of attractions, retail, and dining – some of which are exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore – Minion Land is poised to be a popular draw for both local and overseas visitors alike.”

The park’s new Minion Land is part of a $5 billion expansion of Resorts World Sentosa, which also includes a new Super Nintendo World.

Page Thompson, president of new ventures at Universal Destinations & Experiences, added: “We are delighted for guests to experience Illumination’s Minion Land at yet another Universal destination around the world – Universal Studios Singapore.

“The Minions are such well-loved characters and this newest land builds on the incredible storytelling from the Despicable Me and Minions franchises, brought to life in an exciting, immersive theme park setting. Guests are going to love this new addition.”
