Therme Manchester has released new aerial drone footage revealing the scale and shape of the £500 million water park and wellness resort.

Construction on the new attraction is progressing, with earthworks starting to define the site for the first time and the outline of the project's central circular hub now clearly visible.

Jonathan Lingham, chief commercial officer at Therme Manchester, said: "For the first time, you can see the design translating into reality.

"The central hub is a defining part of the scheme, and it’s now clearly visible on site as the project begins to take shape."

Once completed in late 2028, Therme Manchester will be one of the world's largest urban wellbeing resorts.

It will provide lagoon and wave pools, multi-sensory sauna rituals, steam rooms, waterslides, spa therapies, and health and fitness experiences.

"Therme Manchester will be a place for everyone – a unique destination where wellbeing, sustainability, art and culture come together," David Russell, Therme UK's CEO, said in a previous statement.

Earlier this year, Therme Manchester revealed it is reducing waste and keeping materials in circulation through the use of 3D printing technologies.

Collaborating with 3D fabrication Fab.Pub, Therme Manchester is repurposing materials into architectural forms, as well as elements such as furniture, plant pots and recreational features.

Therme Group currently operates four major facilities in Europe and is developing new destinations across the world, in locations such as South Korea, Dubai, Canada, and across the US.

The company is also building a new resort in Singapore, and has named Tan Boon Khai as CEO of Therme Group Singapore.
