fiNETra, the UK based online live video streaming specialist, is helping to raise the profile of one of the participants at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show with an installation providing a live video stream from the Atlantic Rainforest into the award winning exhibit of the World Land Trust (WLT).

The world famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London, UK, is one of the highlights of the horticulturalist’s calendar and 2010 marks the first year the World Land Trust has taken part. And in fact, so impressed were the show award judges with the exhibit created by the organisation that it received a Gold award for ‘Best Continuous Learning Exhibit, ’ as well as best in show for their class, a major achievement for a first time exhibitor.

The WLT exhibit, called ‘World Land Trust: Saving the Atlantic Rainforest, ’ showcases the wonders of the spectacular Atlantic Rainforest and raises awareness of the importance of its preservation. The high quality, live video stream supplied by fiNETra provides fascinating images of the REGUA protected rainforest area in Brazil.

The exhibit is helping the WLT to celebrate 21 years of direct conservation action in saving and preserving tropical forests and other critically-threatened habitats, in this the International Year of Biodiversity. The garden includes an area of lush Atlantic Rainforest, a ranger’s hut and kitchen garden and a tree nursery representing the reforestation projects undertaken by the Trust. Indeed, the ranger’s hut is a main focal point and includes interpretative material and a plasma screen which provides the video link into the REGUA forest.

“The live video stream we have provided for the World Land Trust’s garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show has been a great success, ” noted fiNETra founder and CEO March Welch, “and has provided a real point of interest within the overall exhibit. It has brought live footage of the REGUA protected forest area of the Atlantic Rainforest right into the heart of the event and has enabled WLT staff to show visitors exactly what they are working to protect. It’s a great way of adding something quite different to what is a wonderful exhibit and, of course, a Gold award winner. I’m delighted for the WLT and pleased that fiNETra has been able to contribute to the organisation’s success at the event.”

fiNETra carries out webcam installations at virtually all types of location and venue and has helped the owners and operators of a wide range of destinations to create additional interest and footfall. The live video streams provided by the company’s webcams provide a real taste of what people can expect to find at a venue or location, while in many instances also providing views of areas where the public are not permitted to go, such as animal enclosures in zoos. They are a cost effective way to promote a venue, to add another dimension to a client’s website and to give visitors a real insight in to what places have to offer, from the comfort of their own home.
