Firm further strengthens market leader position in the Middle East

MTE Studios, a consultancy firm specializing in themed architecture and interactive exhibitions, well known for their turnkey themed projects and world-class installations in science centres and museum galleries worldwide will be representing the UAE at the upcoming 21st annual European Network of Science Centres and Museums Conference (ECSITE) from the 3rd to the 5th of June 2010 in Dortmund, Germany.

The event will bring together Science centre and museum professionals from around the world with three days of challenging sessions and discussions, social events and business opportunities, preceded by two days of in-depth pre-conference meetings and workshops. Among the corporate sponsors and exhibitors, MTE Studios hopes to further strengthen their position as market leaders in the Middle East. It is the firm’s third consecutive participation and the team will be available at stand number 40.

MTE Studios, creators of ‘1000 Years of Knowledge Rediscovered’ permanent exhibition on display within the Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai also played a major role in the design, manufacture and installation of numerous interactive exhibits at the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Turkey and recently delivered a turnkey science museum for King Abdullah Universtiy of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia.

The company is also known worldwide for their global travelling exhibition, ‘Sultans of Science’, which has been showcased at the MTN Sciencentre in Cape Town, South Africa, the Liberty Science Center, New Jersey, USA and the Ontario Science Center in Canada.

The interactive exhibition celebrates the contribution of Arab and Muslim scholars to science and technology during the first Golden Age of the Muslim World and the influence of their discoveries and inventions on contemporary society. The exhibition covers Arab and Muslim scientific endeavours in architecture, arts, astronomy, engineering, exploration, flight, mathematics, medicine and optics.

“The exhibition sends a powerful message about the way we evaluate history, bridge cultural gaps and identifies the need to embrace multi-cultural knowledge, ” added Verheyen. In addition to the design of galleries and the development, design, prototyping and manufacture of exhibitions, MTE Studios also offers operational planning and training for science centres and museums.

MTE Studios has also completed an exhibition on the latest nuclear reactor technology for the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (Pty) Ltd in South Africa, and a unique, modular water activity zone with various interactive components that include a water tower, water wheel, boat races, vortex experiments, weirs and a plumber’s tool kit. The company is also behind the popular interactive activity zone, ‘Build a City’, where children learn to build, construct and work together to achieve mutual goals on a miniature-building site.
