The Ukraine’s biggest multimedia fountain system starts operation in Vinnytsa

Emotion Media Factory Laserland (EMF) has completed Europe’s biggest floating multimedia fountain system in the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsa by order of Roshen Confectionery Corporation.

Multinational confectionery manufacturer Roshen Confectionery has presented the inhabitants of Vinnytsa with delights on a grand scale in the form of Europe’s biggest floating multimedia fountain system. Since the start of September, Vinnytsa’s citizens have been able to marvel daily at the extraordinary effects created by the multimedia fountain system at Pivdenny Buh Quay on a branch of the Bug River. News of this fascinating spectacle spread at lightning speed beyond the Ukraine’s borders and has attracted over 20, 000 visitors to the city every week.

Every evening a thrilling 25-minute story is told with the help of water, music, and colourful laser and light effects. The intention is to put on a show for young and old alike that can be understood without language and evokes emotions among the spectators.

Colourful fountains shoot up to 70 metres into the sky. A water screen 50 metres wide and 18 metres high serves as a projection surface for the story composed and produced by EMF. High-performance video systems project what appear to be 3D images onto the wall of water in brilliant colours with a light output of 30, 000 ANSI lumen.

The dramatic content of the story is underscored with the help of gigantic fountains, with 323 individually steerable water nozzles creating jets of water and special water effects. The highly colourful illumination is created using 516 ultra-modern RGB LED underwater spotlights. A laser with a 10, 000 mW output projects 3D animations into the show and spectacular effects into the night sky.

The system is built on a pontoon 96 metres long and 7 metres wide in the middle of a branch of Bug River and weighs around 150 tonnes overall. Its construction allows it to be lowered to the river floor over the winter to protect its sensitive components from drift ice and freezing temperatures.
EMF Laserland implemented the entire project, from a rough sketch of the idea via planning, design, installation and show production all the way to operation, in just nine months.
