New Partnership with Six Flags Makes LifeLock’s Identity Theft Protection Services Available to Park Visitors, Pass Holders and Employees at a Discounted Rate

With summer officially in full swing, millions of families across the country are on the move, in search of fun and excitement. Unfortunately, an identity thief can turn delightful family memories into fraud nightmares with a lost wallet, hacked information from online purchases or other stolen personal information. Six Flags Inc., the world’s largest regional theme park company with 20 locations throughout North America, Mexico and Canada, is partnering with LifeLock, Inc. to help families form layers of protection against identity theft so their vacations can be enjoyed without worry.

Under the partnership, guests who visit www.sixflags.com will have access to a special link to purchase the LifeLock® identity theft protection service. The service is also available to the company’s more than 2.5 million season pass holders, as well as its 2, 000 full-time and 30, 000 seasonal employees.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, identity theft and identity fraud complaints have increased from 230, 000 to more than 1.2 million since 2000, an increase of 422 percent. An ever-increasing crime, the FTC reports that complaints of identity theft and identity fraud are costing Americans more than $1.2 billion annually. All 50 states saw an increase in reported cases of identity theft filed with the FTC from 2007 to 2008 ranging from 11% to 52%.
