Sunkid delivers tower for Le Village des Automates

News
Sunkid Village des Automates

Family-friendly interaction is at the heart of the firm’s summer installation

Sunkid, a leading provider of attractions for the whole family, is reflecting on a popular installation that is towering over a family theme park in Western Europe.

Found approximately twelve kilometres from the French town of Aix-en-Provence in Saint-Cannat, Le Village des Automates is an outdoor amusement park which caters for all ages. With nearly fifty attractions, events and activities, the site’s lineup was recently bolstered by Sunkid, which provided a Family Tower ride in the summer of 2021.

Providing panoramic views from up to nine metres high, visitors can hoist their way up the lighthouse-inspired attractions, using an integrated rope pull feature. The towers rotate 360 degrees at the base, with 1 to 1.2 revolutions per minute, giving an ideal perspective of other attractions on offer.

With riders’ height being fully controlled by the users themselves, families and friends are free to participate in interactive racing competitions, or simply raise to the top and appreciate the surrounding environment.

Delivering on expectations

Each tower provides a range of possibilities for operators, with a user-friendly height restriction of 120 cm, or 95 cm for those with supervision. A space of only 144 square metres is required for three towers to operate safely, with installation possible in both indoor and outdoor locations.

Each tower has a theoretical throughput of 320 persons per hour, with four seating units each holding two riders. The three-tower version has a throughput of up to 960 persons per hour.

A range of customised theming options is possible for the Tower, including bespoke design, light, and sound effects. The attraction is also available as a coin-operated version, with the possibility of extended self-service.

Sunkid is also a manufacturer of next-generation passenger transport and a major supplier to ski resorts around the world. The firm recently announced the launch of Type N, a new conveyor belt product which sets a new standard in user transportation.
