Sunkid, a leading provider of attractions for the whole family, has announced the launch of Type N, a conveyor belt product that will set a new standard in passenger transportation. Thanks to a newly integrated switchgear, this model is more user-friendly than ever as well as being easy to maintain and operate.
Type N complies with worldwide regulations. A key feature is the i-CONTROL electrical control system, already in use by Sunkids lifts in the Alpine region. This operating system makes it simple for users to see the current operating status and simplifies the belt’s functions.
Introducing i-CONTROL
The new electrical control system includes:
- Multi-touch HMI display with all relevant information for operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Four different password-protected user groups, each with a defined release of functions
- Digital maintenance plan
- Remote access to the electrical control system via the internet for customer and manufacturer (for extended customer support)
- Regular reports by e-mail on the most important operating data to various recipients (customer or manufacturer)
Sunkid first showcased Type N at the Mountain Planet trade fair in Grenoble and several installations have been running in the Alpine region since the 2021/22 winter season.
Sustainable logistics
In creating Type N, the company has developed a uniform standard that it can utilise across its full range, including ski conveyors, logistics solutions, summer applications, water conveyors and more. As a result, it can now offer faster project implementation times, with a reduced number of components and easier lifetime customer support of a system.
The new belt features a newly designed plastic slide table to ensure a reduction in friction and suction between the conveyor belt and the running surface. Channels running out to the side also allow easy water drainage. Lateral conveyor belt guide rollers guarantee clean belt tracking and optimize wear on the conveyor belt side.
Meanwhile, integrated cable trays and extra storage spaces at the top and bottom stations ensure clean cable routing and protection from environmental influences. The roofing solutions for the conveyor belts have also been further developed and fit seamlessly into the new Type N generation.
Furthermore, the components are stackable and easy to transport, therefore requiring fewer truck-load metres. With this latest innovation, Sunkid has drawn on 25 years of knowledge and the experience of over 3,900 successful installations around the world.

Earlier this year, Sunkid installed Traumland-Kran, a crane-themed interactive tower, at Traumland auf der Bärenhöhle near Stuttgart, Germany.
