Falcon’s Beyond Global, a fully integrated development enterprise for IP-driven parks, resorts, media and merchandise, has provided more details for its forthcoming immersive experience theme park.
Designed and constructed by Falcon’s, Katmandu Park is scheduled to open in the Dominican Republic in early 2023. It will offer state-of-the-art rides and attractions that immerse visitors in the business’s original, proprietary franchise, The Hidden Realms of Katmandu.

“Katmandu Park | Punta Cana will deliver an unprecedented theme park experience based on the popular characters of our very own Katmandu fantastical universe,” said Falcon’s Beyond CEO Cecil D. Magpuri.
“Through innovative rides and attractions that deliver unmatched and immersive storytelling, guests will truly lose themselves in the Hidden Realms of Katmandu.
“Combined with other day and night entertainment, dining and shopping, Katmandu Park will offer an extraordinary experience for families and theme park lovers in the premier resort location of Punta Cana.”
With the help of four signature attractions, several exclusive technologies, and immersive storytelling experiences, Katmandu Park | Punta Cana will come to life using a single overarching storyline.
Voyage of the Fathom Wanderer
Visitors can join Kilgore Goode on an underwater mission in Voyage of the Fathom Wanderer to defend the Hidden Realm of Azurlan from a sea monster at the park’s first-ever Suspended Theater attraction. Visitors arrive at this attraction and start their experience in what seems to be a typical widescreen theatre setting.
However, there is a crucial element of surprise in this attraction: visitors are swiftly but elegantly lifted through the air and positioned in front of another enormous, compound curved screen, ushering them inside the story. As they soar through epic adventures, riders will experience flight in a completely new way.
Challenge of the Mad Mage
The ON!X Theater will transform the conventional 4D experience with a variety of features that are seamlessly incorporated with cutting-edge technology, where visitors will be challenged to a blaster duel through the Hidden Realms. An interactive real-time system gives each player the ability to control the course of the action in the family-friendly adventure, even influencing the narrative that is displayed before them on a cinema-style screen.
A targeting system offers precise and persistent positional tracking that not only recognises the players’ points of aim but also the locations and motions of their blasters. Electric motion seats simultaneously give users multi-sensory feedback in the form of vibration, air blasts, mist, scent, localised speakers in the headrests, poking and tickling.
EtherQuest
Anoter key component of the Falcon’s Beyond project, this interactive walk-through attraction will make its debut reinventing the traditional experience by fusing exclusive technologies, scenic elements, projection, and an interactive gameplay journey.
To transport visitors from the halls of “Jadu” (the house of Katmandu) into the Hidden Realms to battle formidable Explorer Mages with various interactive props and discover a priceless EtherMetal ember. A number of the rooms will utilise projection on all four walls.
This attraction uses an action-packed walk-through system where visitors are really the main characters of their own adventure to give visitors the chance to explore, play, and affect their experience.
Legend of the Desirata
A technologically advanced attraction, this 4D Dark Ride experience will immerse visitors in the history of Katmandu at the Falcon’s Beyond site. Visitors follow explorer Kilgore Goode through the Himalayas in a dynamically moving vehicle, sharing his journey into the Hidden Realms as he discovers the enigmatic Desirata, seamlessly fusing scenic elements and media.
Throughout the visitor experience, the attraction’s multiple integrated projection screens deliver high-framerate and high-fidelity stereoscopic 3D media content, immersive audio, lighting effects, wind effects, and breathtaking scenic elements. To fully immerse passengers, the action on the screens and in the environment around the rider is choreographed with the movement of the vehicle.
Other additions
A 36-hole mini golf course Expedition Golf, an outdoor ropes course experience, and four different indoor climbing walls for both adults and children are among additional attractions earmarked for Katmandu | Park Punta Cana. The Wheel of Infinite Wonder, a carousel with custom figures inspired by creatures and characters from the Hidden Realms, will serve as the focal point of the park’s plaza.
Falcon’s Beyond also recently BeyondME, a new loyalty and gaming platform which enables players to connect and be rewarded for engagement across various experience types.
