Triotech wins IAAPA Brass Ring Award for walkthrough experience

News
Triotech OCT Walkthrough Hive Break Building Exterior

Triotech, an award-winning creator of media-based attractions, is celebrating after its double walkthrough experience was recognized by the IAAPA Brass Ring Awards. The Hive Break attraction, recently installed at OCT Fabland Valley Resort in China, was rewarded in “Best New Product Major Ride/Attraction” with second place in the $2-$5 million category.

Immersive experience

Hive Break is one of Triotech’s latest projects, a stimulating double walkthrough experience spanning over 1,000 square metres. This 12-minute attraction is incredibly immersive and participatory, having two parallel pathways with intertwined themes. Each path is divided into three distinct zones: a Motion Simulator, a Training Facility (Interactive Projection Mapping), and an Interactive attraction.

“We are honoured to have been recognized by the IAAPA Brass Ring Awards”, said Triotech CEO & founder Ernest Yale. “It is always humbling and motivating to receive recognition from our industry. This drives us to continue developing breakthrough attractions.”

Depending on which path guests take in the queue line, this double walkthrough attraction has two separate narratives. Each component of this multisensory attraction was created, developed, and built by Triotech, including the firm’s unique Illusio interactive projection mapping. The dynamic proprietary media material was wholly generated by Triotech’s own Montreal studio using the Unreal game engine.

Delivering engaging storylines

For operators opting to install the Double Walkthrough experience in their venue, each zone’s experience is bespoke-designed to fit the storyline. As a result, parks can select distinct attractions for each zone based on their IP and storytelling requirements.

Each zone is linked to the next via themed hallways, allowing the attraction to be easily modified to the available area and design and the visual experience is designed to entertain guests with exciting gameplay and an engaging story.

Triotech also used IAAPA Expo to unveil its latest simulator product, QUBE, a premium interactive multiplayer coin-op game which can be installed on a small footprint at FECs and amusement parks.
